We All Need A Little Breath Of Fresh Air

I know I’m a little late on the colour of the year post… well, in all honesty, I was on a bit of a blogging hiatus, but thats besides the point really… So here it is, Benjamin Moore’s 2014 Colour of the Year.  Breath of Fresh Air 806

A soft blue with a subtle gray hint, literally does add a Breath of Fresh Air.  Soft and serene, the colour of the year is like bringing a touch of the outdoors in, allowing you to unwind from the hustle and bustle of a hectic day.  And lets face it, as we become more and more bombarded with constant e-mails, texts and other media sources… ahem, my blog, a calming colour is the perfect change to the senses to unwind and relax.

Absolutely love Breath of Fresh Air on an entry door.  If you fear that painting a whole room this colour is too much, a door is the perfect spot to splash a fun colour.

In this formal sitting room, traditional furniture and white millwork are made to pop with Breath of Fresh Air on the walls, yet aren’t over powered.

This breakfast nook looks like the perfect place to enjoy a warm cup of coffee to start the day.  Balancing out the cool tones of the wall, the patterned fabrics and rich woods bring warmth.

This great print from Jaima Brown’s Notting Hill collection really epitomizes the full 2014 colour trends forecast!  Breah of Fresh Air acts as a serene backdrop for vibrant accents in greens, pinks and golds.  I personally love the chair legs painted bright pink to add more character to the traditional chair as well.
